Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the theme import and sharing features of IndiClock ("the App"), developed by Sea Gull Way Ventures Inc. ("we", "us"). By importing or sharing a theme, you agree to the terms below.
What a theme is
A theme is a small JSON file describing how the clock should look — colors, hand styles, optional face images, and optional links to information pages. Anyone can create a theme by hand-editing JSON and hosting it on any service that supports HTTPS (such as GitHub Pages, Netlify, or Cloudflare Pages). IndiClock reads that file, validates it, and renders the described clock face locally on your device.
IndiClock is a renderer, not a host
- We do not host, distribute, curate, moderate, or endorse user-imported themes.
- We do not verify the accuracy, legality, or ownership of content referenced by any theme.
- When you import a theme from a URL, your device fetches that file directly from the URL you provided. We are not a party to that fetch.
- Images referenced by a theme may become unavailable or change at any time — this is a property of the open web, not a defect in IndiClock.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the content of any theme you import, create, or share. By using these features you represent that:
- You have the right to use any images, names, logos, or text referenced by the theme;
- The theme does not infringe intellectual property or publicity rights of any third party;
- The theme does not contain content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, obscene, or that harasses or endangers any person;
- The theme does not attempt to impersonate IndiClock, Sea Gull Way Ventures Inc., or any other person or organization in a misleading way.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the theme import or sharing features to:
- Distribute malware, phishing content, or content designed to exploit IndiClock or its users;
- Circumvent content-size, HTTPS, or other technical constraints enforced by the App;
- Mass-generate themes as part of spam or abuse campaigns;
- Violate applicable law or the terms of any third-party service (including the hosting service you use to serve your theme file).
Reporting a theme
IndiClock does not host theme content, so there is nothing for us to remove from a server. If you come across a theme that is illegal or violates someone's rights, you can:
- Remove it from your device (Settings → Themes → Imported).
- Copy the theme's source URL and report it to the service hosting that URL (GitHub, the website owner, etc.).
- If the theme impersonates IndiClock itself, you may also email support@indiclock.com.
The App's in-app "Report this theme" flow surfaces these same actions. We do not operate a takedown queue for third-party content we do not host.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the theme sharing feature evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use theme import or sharing after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
